Apple French Toast Casserole

Ingredients
  

  • 7-8 cups cubed bread see note
  • 4 apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups milk any variety
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract optional
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350° and grease a 9” x 13” baking dish.
  • Peel the apples and cut into small pieces.
  • Whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon.
  • Add the apple pieces and the cubed bread.
  • Pour the mixture into the baking dish.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes, until golden brown.

Notes

Stale French bread or other sturdy white breads work well.
Serve with maple syrup.
