Apple French Toast Casserole
Ingredients
- 7-8 cups cubed bread see note
- 4 apples
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 ½ cups milk any variety
- ½ tsp. vanilla extract optional
- ¼ tsp. cinnamon optional
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350° and grease a 9” x 13” baking dish.
- Peel the apples and cut into small pieces.
- Whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon.
- Add the apple pieces and the cubed bread.
- Pour the mixture into the baking dish.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, until golden brown.
Notes
Stale French bread or other sturdy white breads work well.
Serve with maple syrup.
