Share a Share

Have you ever eaten a juicy grape tomato straight off the vine? Or crunched into an ear of perfectly sweet corn? Those are just a few of the pleasures available to folks in our community who can afford to purchase locally-grown produce and CSA shares. But for many, these simple delights–and the nourishment they provide–are out of reach.

Through our Share a Share program, Willing Hands partners with nine local farms to make top-quality produce available to our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Anyone in the community can donate a full or partial CSA share from their farm of choice to Willing Hands. We pick up the produce every week throughout the season, and deliver it to more than 80 food shelves in the Upper Valley.

The most exciting thing about Share a Share is that it directly supports local farms by paying them for CSA shares, while simultaneously supporting our food insecure neighbors with the highest quality produce. In this way, we are improving the health of individuals and families as well as the health of our agricultural economy.

In 2021, nearly 300 community members contributed toward CSA shares for Willing Hands. You can see our list of CSA partner farms and make a contribution here
